This page describes the tools, data sources and methods Optimist India uses to report and verify its journalism.
Data sources. We rely on official government and institutional records, published datasets, peer-reviewed research, recognised non-profit and multilateral reports, and direct interviews. We link to primary documents wherever they are public.
Verification. Claims are cross-checked against at least one independent source. Figures are traced to their origin rather than to secondary coverage. Quotations are confirmed with the speaker or the on-the-record recording.
Limitations. Where data is incomplete, contested or self-reported, we say so. We prefer to under-claim than to overstate a positive result.
