Ananya Krishnan

Ananya Krishnan is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Optimist India. Over fifteen years in Indian journalism she has worked as a features writer and national desk editor, covering everything from rural enterprise to the country's science and start-up ecosystems. She built Optimist India around a simple, stubborn idea: that the steady, verifiable progress happening across India — in classrooms, labs, farms and self-help groups — deserves the same rigour and prominence that the news usually reserves for outrage. She sets the publication's editorial standards, chairs its corrections process, and edits the Editor's Letter. Ananya holds a postgraduate degree in journalism and is based in Bengaluru.
